If Play closes the window, stop reinstalling and open the log.

The launcher disappearing after Play usually means the game process died. logs/latest.log and a crash report folder beat a third Store reinstall.

  1. Copy worlds out of saves.
  2. Read the last FATAL or Error lines in latest.log.
  3. Update the GPU driver from NVIDIA/AMD/Intel, not a driver-booster app.
  4. Disable overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience, RGB hubs) for a test launch.
  5. Clear experimental JVM arguments. -Xmx32G on a 16 GB PC is a self-own.
  6. Disable hardware acceleration in launcher Settings if the launcher UI itself is the thing crashing.
